Custom TPO (Thermoplastic olefin) Extrusion Manufacturer
Preferred Plastics extrudes high-quality custom plastic parts using TPO, or thermoplastic olefin. A leading custom extruder, Preferred Plastics offers an inventory of standard compounds of TPO for use in industrial applications.
What Is TPO?
Thermoplastic olefin and thermoplastic polyolefin are blends of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), block copolymer polypropylene (BCPP), rubber, and reinforcing fillers. TPOs are flexible, tough and durable and, due to its components, can be modified to be weather-resistant, scratch-resistant, paintable, and low odor. They are flame retardant, and a recyclable alternative to rubber.
TPO is used for applications in automotive, building and construction, and battery applications. Some TPO is used for:
- Automotive components, including bumpers, interior and exterior trim, and floor mats
- Grips
- Seals.
TPO Advantages
- Excellent weather resistance
- Good tear strength
- Impact resistant
